First off, he's got that grayness under his eyes for a reason. He can't sleep. He's seen things that have left mental scars. He was neglected by his mother. She used to have sex with men (mostly Richter) right in front of him. It was traumatizing for him and he just wanted her care; he still loved her no matter the abuse and adultery. Though if you use his past, be careful because it is a very sensitive subject for him. He's been injured emotionally so many times.

After he found his mother killed, he burned her corpse "to keep her warm" and then placed the ashes into Teddy, his stuffed bear. He already talked to Teddy all the time, but once he had his mother's ashes, he continued on speaking to him, feeling as if now his mother was... finally... all... his.

Teddy is his stuffed bear that he absolutely adores. He never leaves his room without him. He speaks to him often, but doesn't like when others try to. "I'm the only adviser Teddy needs," he says.

Kanato's polite, but violent when he doesn't get what he wants. That could either include you... or his sweets. Cake, mostly. Oh, he didn't get his cake? Then STABBY RIP STAB STAB --

...Okay, he's a yandere.

He's quick to anger, especially violence, such as breaking objects and throwing items if you so much as give him something bitter to drink/eat. (Again, he likes sweet things!)
But, he will deeply apologize immediately afterwards; especially if he accidentally hurt you. He will genuinely feel bad, and he'll try to make it up to you... //wink wink. 

_{...He likes when you act helpless... It's like a fetish of his, I've noticed... He wants to be the one in charge, on top, he doesn't like to be ordered around... He wants you to do as he says...}

He has teleporting powers, along with the ability to manipulate fire. He's got a habit of silently appearing out of nowhere, staring at you with a blank expression in his eyes, a strange smile on his face, & Teddy in his arms.

...He likes to sing ominous songs...

He's a bit clueless about girls, he thinks a kiss can keep you from getting upset or that he constantly has to "pleasure" you~ He's 17 years old, not a child, so no--he is not innocent.  

Also, Kanato is a triplet. His other twins are Ayato and Laito, although they don't look anything like him.


Need more proof that this cute little thang can be majorly sadistic and creepy? Probably not. I'll give you some anyway~

Oh, I should also mention that Diabolik Lovers was originally an otome game, which later got its own anime.

Otome game: An otome game (乙女ゲーム otome gēmu?, literally "girl game") is a story based video game that is targeted towards a female market. Generally one of the goals, besides the main plot goal, is to develop a romantic relationship between the female player character and one of several male characters. This genre is most established in Japan, and is mostly made up of visual novels and simulation games (particularly dating sims).

In the Diabolik Lovers game, there were 3 routes that the player could take, which were Dark, Maniac, & Ecstasy.  

I don't mind whenever you write the xreader (I don't even know if I'll get entries  ), you don't have to have seen the anime though. Just watch episode 1 and you'll already have a good grasp of what the whole show's about. It doesn't feel like there's much of a plot, so no need to fret over things like that.~

Kanato lives in a mansion with his 5 other (supermegatotallycutebutnotascute) brothers. There's a start? [; Also, the player from the game lived with them in the mansion, so the reader could take her place as living with them (otome game = reader insert.) The heroine had recently moved in with them because her father was a priest and had to work overseas. He sent her there because he knew the family & couldn't take care of her for a while.

He's not just a sadist... He has a heart. Also... watch this AMV ^_^ The blonde girl is Yui, who takes on the role of the player/reader from the game/story.
